For International Day of Peace K-2 created peace mobiles that are hung in the Elementary Lobby, The Art Room and the Windy Tree Caff. These were created by the students painting a branch, a piece of an egg carton, coloring a circle and then stringing it all together with beads and yarn.
3-6 created Peace Rocks. These were put into boxes and delivered to the Superintendents office, Public Library, and the Windy Tree Caff. The community could each take one rock to remind them of peace.
Grades K-6 started the year by creating painted paper that will be utilized later in the year. It was fun to dig right into paper and paint. We used a variety of tools to create marks. To learn the variety of techniques that we will be using to create art later in the year. We also experimented with mixing color.
