4th-6th grade a created a sculpture inspired by Dale Chihuly. We talked about his art and how it is created. We also discussed where you can find a local piece. The students each painted one bottle with the only rule being they had to use one color and white. Kindergarten and first grade worked hard at creating their sculptures out of paper. Prior to starting this project we read the book 600 black dots by David A Carter. While 5th grade worked on adding color to their mannequins Today we took a lot of fun funky materials and added the details to our puppets. Items in the bucket included buttons, sequins, pipe cleaners, felt, foam, pom moms, crayons, yarn, ribbon and more. No rules the students could create their puppet how they saw fit. |
