Finish bottle drawings Learn to mount artwork for a finished look Learn to document work and submit it to Mrs. Smith Sept 2 Zentangle Wednesday Sept3 Students will begin work on their self portraits. We will start with a photograph of each student (5x7) and using the grid system students will create a self-portrait (10x14). Next students will choose one of the materials they used while creating their bottle drawings to finish their portraits. National Visual Arts Standard Content Standard #2 Using knowledge of structures and functions Students create artworks that use organizational principles and functions to solve specific visual arts problems. Begin Still Life Drawings Students will learn techniques that are vital in the creation process. We will begin with drawing 8 contour drawings of a still life. This is an exploration of materials.
Next each student will choose seven drawings to apply a variety of materials to including, oil pastels, pencil, pen and ink, collage, watercolor, charcoal and . Students will make a value scale for each material. Of those seven drawings the students will then choose six to mount onto a black piece of paper for a finished look. This project will meet the National Visual Arts Standard #1 Understanding and applying media, techniques, and processes. August 26th Zentangle Wednesday! |
